4 Lakh Aid Given to Families of Children Killed in Lucknow Fire Tragedy

Lucknow: Financial assistance of ₹4 lakh each has been provided to the families of two children who lost their lives in the recent fire tragedy in Vikas Nagar. The relief was extended on the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Local MLA Om Prakash Srivastava met the bereaved families and handed over the compensation cheques, assuring them of all possible support from the government during this difficult time.

Following the incident, the Chief Minister had immediately taken cognizance and directed officials to intensify relief and rescue operations on a war footing. The administration has since arranged accommodation and food for the affected families at a nearby community centre. Additionally, food packets are being distributed at the incident site, and medical facilities have been made available to the victims.

The fire broke out on Wednesday evening near Sector 12, Ring Road in Vikas Nagar, where a cluster of huts was engulfed in flames. Swift and coordinated action by the fire department, police, health workers, municipal teams, and civil defence personnel helped prevent a larger tragedy.

More than 400 personnel were deployed at the site, and over 30 nearby houses were evacuated in time, saving numerous lives. Authorities continue to provide assistance and monitor the situation to ensure the well-being of the affected families.
